Relax, the robots are not taking over. Probably. Here is my honest take on using AI the right way.

Embracing Artificial Intelligence

Let's talk about AI, because it's changing the creative industry, and pretending otherwise would be foolish. I'm a big believer in artificial intelligence. I use it, appreciate what it can do, and recognize the tremendous opportunities it creates for organizations and creative professionals alike.

AI can be an incredible starting point. It can help generate ideas, explore possibilities, accelerate workflows, and accomplish tasks that once required considerably more time. Used wisely, it makes creative professionals more efficient and allows them to focus on the things that require experience, strategy, and human judgment.

AI is a powerful tool, but a starting point isn't the same thing as a finished product.

Just Because You Can Generate It Doesn't Mean It's Good Design

We've all seen the explosion of AI-generated graphics, and many of them are surprisingly easy to recognize. Awkward typography, inconsistent details, questionable compositions, and imagery that looks impressive at first glance but doesn't hold up under scrutiny.

The technology is advancing rapidly, and there's no question that AI can produce impressive results. But the ability to generate something visually interesting isn't the same as understanding why a design works. AI doesn't replace the need to understand your audience, communicate a message effectively, maintain brand consistency, or recognize when something simply isn't right.

Good design requires more than a prompt. It requires purpose, experience, and a trained eye.

Why People Still Matter

I believe in using the best tools available to deliver the best possible results. That may include using AI to brainstorm, research, explore concepts, or improve efficiency. But I'm not interested in handing you an AI-generated graphic and calling it professional design.

The work I deliver should reflect thoughtful creative decisions, intentional typography, consistent branding, and careful attention to detail. Technology can help streamline the process, but it shouldn't eliminate the creativity, judgment, and craftsmanship that make the finished product effective.

Ultimately, you're not hiring me because I have access to AI tools. You're hiring me because I know how to use those tools, recognize their limitations, and bring the experience necessary to turn an idea into something meaningful.

AI should support the creative process, not become a substitute for it.
